Max Mayer- Director

Max is a Founder and Producing Director of NEW YORK STAGE AND FILM which has presented 32 summer seasons of original plays at the Powerhouse Theatre at Vassar College, co-produced a number of transfers to NYC, and produced six short films while earning a national reputation for developing new work for the American Theatre.

His feature film, ADAM, premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Alfred P. Sloan Award and was distributed by FOX SEARCHLIGHT. The film also won the Best Picture Award at the Methodfest Film Festival and his screenplay was a winner of the 12th Annual Writers' Network Fiction And Screenplay Competition. ADAM opened theatrically in the United States to generally excellent reviews.

His latest feature film, AS COOL AS I AM starring Claire Danes, James Marsden and Sarah Bolger was Produced by Wind Dancer and Identity Films and was distributed by IFC Films in 2013. Recently, Max has written two original screenplays, THE GREAT DAY, based on the Haymarket bombing anarchist trial in 1886, Chicago, and THE AFFIX, about a video game designer living inside his latest creation.

He is attached to direct DECEPTION ROAD, a noir style road thriller, written and produced by Dallas Brennan. Also, he is developing a film titled PATRIOT ACTS with producer, Gina Resnick and writer, Willy Holtzman based on a true story about a high school drama teacher who runs afoul of school authorities when she creates a play about Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.

Max directed, co-wrote and co-produced the feature film, BETTER LIVING, starring Roy Scheider, Olympia Dukakis and Edward Hermann in 1999. It was screened at the Hamptons Film Festival (where it was chosen as one of the four best films of that festival) and at the Avignon, San Diego and Sau Paulo Festivals among others. It opened theatrically in New York and Los Angeles in August of 2000.

Other original screenplays, PRESENT TENSE, a past lives thriller, THE DOORMAN, optioned by Goldheart Pictures and co-wrote RUNAWAY LAKE with Sadik Grice and INTERSECTION with Catherine Corpeny.

For television, Max directed Episodes of NBC's THE WEST WING and ABC's ALIAS and was Associate Producer of CBS's FAMILY LAW where he directed three episodes.

DALLAS MITCHELL BRENNAN is an award-winning Writer/Producer, a graduate of Rutgers University and Playwrights Horizons Theatre School.

In 2010 Brennan established his production company Wild Invention Pictures with the film "Shit Year" which premiered at Cannes 2010 starring Ellen Barkin, followed by "The Loneliest Planet" at Toronto 2011 starring Gael Garcia Bernal and "The Lifeguard" at Sundance 2013 starring Kristen Bell.

"The Loneliest Planet" received critical acclaim in 2012 including a Gotham Award Nomination for Best Picture and an Independent Spirit Award Nomination for Best Director, Julia Loktev. It’s since been released theatrically through IFC/Sundance Selects.

"The Lifeguard" was theatrically released summer 2013 by Focus World/Screen Media. Brennan recently produced "A Different Sun" starring Chin Han. He has several projects as a screenwriter in development including "Sure", Summer of Anna" and "Deception Road" with Producer George Parra ("Silver Linings Playbook", "American Hustle", "The Descendants")
